Ingredients
• ½ cup of white or brown Basmati rice
• ½ cup of coconut milk
• 2 cups water
• salt
• stick of cinnamon (small)
• As per taste for sweet version:
• sugar
• dry fruits
• almond flakes
• Light spices - green cardamom, nutmeg, mixed spice
OR
• As per taste for savoury version:
• Light spices - cumin, coriander
• 2-3 cloves of chopped garlic
• 2-3 slices of fresh ginger
Preparation
• Cook rice with cinnamon and water until it becomes well cooked and very soft.
• When the rice grains are very soft, add coconut milk and stir continuously until the milk boils.
• As per sweet or savoury taste mix in the relevant ingredients and spices.
• For more liquid porridge add more hot water.
• For more semi-solid porridge, keep on a low/medium flame until it thickens.
Can be kept for 2 days if refrigerated.
