Amla Juice

Ingredients

  • 6 Fresh Amla (Indian gooseberry)

  • Thumb sized piece of ginger, peeled (optional)

  • 1/2-1 cup of water


Preparation

  • Remove the stone from the gooseberries by roughly slicing off the flesh from around it. Discard the stone.

  • Add the roughly chopped pieces to a blender with the ginger (optional) and half a cup of water to make a pulp. You may need to add a bit more water depending on the size of the berries.

  • Strain the mixture through a sieve, pressing the pulp mixture with the back of a spoon to release as much juice as possible.

  • Discard the pulp.

  • Pour the juice into a glass and enjoy!

  • You can add a little bit of sugar, honey or pinch of black salt to taste.
